Following the release of the Flare X2 from Cherry Mobile, a phone sporting a backside illuminated sensor camera called the Apollo was released to strengthen their product line. It's main strengths are the dual 12mp camera in the back while a 5mp snapper in the front, both are BSI sensors to further increase image performance under low light situations.

Here's a quick look with the Cherry Mobile Apollo specs:

  • 1.2GHz Quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor
  • PowerVR SGX544 1GB RAM
  • 4GB internal storage expandable via a MicroSD card slot
  • 4.5-inch HD (720 x 1280) IPS display, 326 ppi
  • 12.0-megapixels primary camera with LED flash and BSI
  • 5.0-megapixels secondary camera with BSI
  • Dual SIM, Dual Standby
  • HSPA+, 3G, WiFi, WiFi Hotspot, Bluetooth, A-GPS
  • 1800 mAh battery
  • Android Jelly Bean 4.2
The spec sheet is rather promising, maybe just enough to bring that Android experience to the fullest.

Hoping to grab hold of a review soon to see this "BSI smartphone ng bayan!"
